They should have died two days ago when he ran over them with a police car in Martinez. They definitely should have died this morning when he cut off their heads in Tilden Park. No matter how many times Percy killed them and watched them crumble to powder, they just kept re-forming like large evil dust bunnies. He reached the top of the hill and caught his breath.
The campgrounds are laid out like a military base. The campers play war games for fun. To Percy, it seems wrong.
Hazel Levesque knows all about not belonging. Frank Zhang is the only camper who accepts her despite who she is. Frank Zhang has his own heavy secret, but he tries not to think about it. Instead he works at becoming a better warrior.

In an objective mindset, this series is amazing and has all the elements of his other books. Still, I'd recommend it to any pre-teen or teen! Date published: Rated 3 out of 5 by Arthi from Alright Honestly, after reading all of Percy Jackson and The Lost Hero, this book was a bit of a disappointment.
I couldn't feel the chemistry between characters and I didn't feel like they acted true to their age. What a great story.
Love learning about Roman Mythology and how Riordan incorporates characters from the Percy Jackson series. Not only do the heroes go on their own quest but we as readers get to go as well every time we crack upon one of his books!
The new characters are all well written and have detailed back history I honestly never want this series to finish! It includes Percy's story, which happens at the same time as the first book.
I enjoyed this book more than the first book and I can tell you that this whole series gets better with each book! But just a heads up, be prepared for the last book, The Blood of Olympus.
Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by Amanda from Humorous Adventure While the first book in this series didn't do much for me, I enjoyed this one much more. Riordan's humor shines through, mostly through Percy's character, and it feels vaguely reminiscent of the PJO series.
The new characters introduced in this book are also very likeable, to be sure, but it's nice to reconnect with old favorites, and I look forward to seeing Annabeth in the next installment. However, I am enjoying them enough to want to continue with this series and see where it goes.

Does anyone know for sure?? The cover is amazing. It makes me even more excited about this book!!!! I also read the first chapter, and although it was kind of weird at first because it was written in third person, it was from Percy's view! I can't wait to see what adventures are in store!!
