Shelves: fiction This is one of my all time favorite reads! I have read it about 5 times and have a copy that I lend out. It is a hysterical account of the life of a British man trying to live out the Christian life! Dec 11, Laura rated it liked it Any book that claims to be funny is going to be held up to the Dave Barry golden standard: Does it make me spontaneously laugh out loud? Does it tickle me to the extent that I can't read it aloud intelligibly through my laughter? Adrian Plass gets the chuckle award for sure. It was light satire meant to feel familiar enough to make you laugh in recognition bu Any book that claims to be funny is going to be held up to the Dave Barry golden standard: Does it make me spontaneously laugh out loud?
I was intrigued by his obsession with Kathryn, his desire to add a living being to his collection. It looked like Frank was going somewhere dark and interesting.
Darn it. Frank doesn't take the time to do this.
Adrian gets over his beastliness and his pain rather quickly, thanks to nice-girl Kathryn's healing touch. He becomes civilized Much to my disappointment, Adrian swiftly morphs into the classic romance hero--tall, dark, and handsome, too good to be true.
By the book's end, I expected him to start whistling a show tune or something. Goodman I ended up buying this book after I have already read the first one. Stealing Kathryn I finished in one sitting.
I loved the story. I felt the connection between them. The love scenes were impressive and descriptive. The main character Kathryn isn't as bitchy and annoying as Asia the main character in Hunting Julian. The only reason I gave it four out of five stars is because Kathryn blushes and turns reds hundreds of time which was a little annoying.
Other than that it was a great book! I hope the author comes out with another book.
She mentions a small story of how their world had caught a disease and killed most of their women, but it would be neat if she wrote a book based on that little story so the readers could understand in depth the story. Ndyardin Some of the less then stellar reviews seemed a bit out of line but for fans of this type of supernatural fantasy type genre this book is really a intriguing read. I truly enjoyed the principle characters and being familiar with Franks writing style and her fantasy planes I found myself quickly adapting to this particular genre having not read the previous book in the series, I am definitely back tracking now though.
This book had everything I love in my brain candy novels a sweet , confused and at times feisty and irrational heroine and a male lead who's character changes from dangerously depraved to about face without loosing his danger factor On my brain candy scale I give this one ten pixie sticks and one of those big Hershey bars they only sell at the factory store ; Fearlesshunter Good Follow up to Hunting Julian.
The world as imagined by Frank is so amazingly creative and fascinating it's easy to get lost in it.
The descriptive writing is mesmerizing. Modimeena Frank seems to deliver enough only if you know the previous books.
Unlike other authors they really cannot stand alone and you cannot pick up a random book in her series then jump back because you enjoyed it. I have read her previous books but she really does fall short with the turn in her series especially in this book and several other following. I have to say I am thoroughly disappointed Romance.
Yet, despite the constant hardships, she loves the children in her care.
