Now, The Jungle Book is my second favorite Disney movie to have been made by Walt Disney This song is just the bare necessities of life!.
What's up, guys? Tigerfan45 here, and I'm back again. Today, I'm doing another post on ranking songs from Disney movies. And, today's lucky contender is The Jungle Book And, without a doubt, the film has phenomenal songs.
Mowgli learned from his last encounter with the sneaky snake about what he's really like, but, Kaa attempts to prove otherwise.
He offers Mowgli a chance to stay in the jungle, and begins to hypnotize him. The melody of this song perfectly fits Kaa's character, since it sounds like something a snake charmer would play. Besides, this song gives kids a perfect example of why they should be wary of strangers: They pretend to be your friend, but, in reality, they just want to take advantage of you, like how Kaa wants to trick Mowgli so that he can eat him.
And, guess who inadvertently ends up saving Mowgli? Shere Khan, who wants Mowgli dead to begin with. So, this song is chilling, and perfect for a guy like Kaa.
And, you know what? That's exactly what it is! Both songs are sung by characters who serve as the comic relief, and they're both about relaxing and having fun instead of constantly worrying.
Baloo is trying to teach Mowgli to live the care free life of a bear, like eating ants and fruit, and scratching your back against trees, and Mowgli is following Baloo's example, since he really wants to stay in the jungle instead of going to the man village. This song has a really nice, bouncy melody to it, and was so popular that it was used as the theme song for Jungle Cubs.
And, it's reprised at the end, where even Bagheera, who earlier was kind of a spoilsport but, for the right reasons, of course! What more can I say? This song is just the bare necessities of life! Now, it's time for the song about the king of the swingers!
Some people including Bagheera think that it was for malicious intent, but, I always saw Louie's desire for man's red fire as more like childlike curiosity, kind of like Olaf's desire to experience summer. He tries to recruit Mowgli to teach him, since he thinks that all man Cubs know how to make fire, but, Mowgli really doesn't know.
But, then Baloo enters, dressed like a female orangutan, and that's when the song REALLY starts to get upbeat of course, until his cover's blown. Everyone really seems to be having fun. The melody, and the scat singing in this song just makes me want to get up and dance!
Well, that's the list. And, the next song ranking list will be a request from my good friend, Ratigan, the songs from Pinocchio.

You've still got friends. Bare Necessities Retrieved from " https: The final film was not provided to Sunset Sound in order to make Storyteller albums, as the records had to be made in advance. Jimmy Johnson, who by this time was the scriptwriter, may have seen a rough cut, but that may not have been possible even today, many Disney read-alongs are written with a script in hand long before the film is ready to view. My job was to cut it down and assemble a twenty or thirty-minute record from a two-hour movie.
I had no script or visual guidelines from the movie.
We had to wait 44 years for the Legacy Collection CD to get that! Executive Producer: Jimmy Johnson. Running Time: 34 minutes. Instrumental: Main Title.
One major difference is that it includes the complete main title music, which fades off on the Storyteller record. The end duet with Baloo and Bagheera, edited down on the Storyteller, is also presented on this album at the full length it was heard in the film.
I recommended him to Walt, who was a bit dubious at first. He brought his entire band down to Burbank, at his own expense, to audition for Walt and the animators.
