By Sadie Trombetta May 27 Falling in love may be a unique experience for everyone, but love stories, on the other hand, tend to rely on the same tropes. Frantic confessions of love at the airport gate, fake fiances-turned-real romantic interests, forbidden love — from the heartwarming to the outrageous, we've read these stories time and time again, but it doesn't stop us from loving books about falling in love with your best friend. But why? It's a familiar story we can all relate to. When I was a teenager, my first boyfriend was my childhood friend from down the street.
Never underestimate the power of your non-friends. But this one changed my mind.
I love how the author has experimented with broken characters. Instead of the dashing young boy and a beautiful girl, he has damaged characters.
They're not so lovable yet they feel real. Then there's their love story which is itself very damaged and imperfect.
Of course, there are some shortcomings. For example, the last section of I read Durjoy's book after a long time. For example, the last section of the book had a few unrealistic things. There's this girl who is supposed to have a fake profile and is residing in a foreign country yet it doesn't become obvious when she shares her whatsapp number?
Then the reaction of girl's parents, in the end, is a bit unexpected. Parents who hate you and want to get rid of you wouldn't mind throwing you off to any kind of guy, at least that's what these parents seemed to be like but they behaved very differently.
I would have liked if there was more strength in this scene. The ending would have been perfect then.
Otherwise, it feels good to read the story of these two people, struggling with their own problems and being in love even then. It's a good book. I mean, I liked it and disliked it at the same time.
She wasn't saying that those in his position lead lifeless lives, she was saying everything but that. Will just wished to not live a life that was not what he had before his accident.
It could have been any other illness that prevented him from being "him" and he would have likely done the same. Either way, this book was a great read! And if you love sarcasm, humor and that feeling you get after reading a romance novel - definitely give this one a go. Louisa Clark is a simple girl with down-to-earth expectations of life. She is from a working class family, living in a little town.
At a first glance, she is unremarkable, except for her peculiar tastes in fashion. However, when you get to know Lou, you see that she has such a vibrant personality: her liveliness, optimism, perseverance, and kindness can fuel the universe for years to come! William Traynor is a handsome, successful, daring, witty, and rich young man. Lou and Will would have been a cliche-perfect romantic pair.
But, here is where the author takes matters into her hands and writes an unexpected destiny for the couple. Will ends up in a road accident that leaves him a quadriplegic. After you are done with the book, borrow a movie!
